Hans Peterson Visit

Hans Peterson will lead us in worship songs on Sunday, January 17 at 10:30am

Born and raised in an Alaskan village only accessible by barge or airplane, Hans Peterson has

been performing since he got a hold of his grandpa’s ukulele at age 6. Hans returned to his

Midwestern Scandinavian roots to attend Luther College. He is married to Heidi, a med-student-

turned-permaculture-farmer. They live on her family farm in Belle Plaine, MN. They nurture

their two boys, as well as the 10,000 plus trees that they have planted. As a singer/songwriter he

ventures out as a solo artist and with a band playing piano, harmonica and acoustic guitar. When

he is not leading people in song, he might be weeding the garden, picking berries, tapping sugar

maples, or chasing sheep. In all that he does, Hans works for a world where all creation is seen as

sacred. He has written many worship songs, including the Liturgy for Earth-Keeping we used

last summer.
